When inspecting a vehicle, do you check the timing belt? A used vehicle we’re interested in doesn’t have a record of it being changed.
Hello, Meg McClung! No, we don't do that because it's impossible to check the timing belt just by looking at it. If it's not in the critical condition you can't tell if it has, for example, only 10 thousand or 60 thousand miles. So it's always a good idea to preventively replace a timing belt on a car you've just bought (especially with interference engine where valves could hit pistons) if you are not sure when it was replaced previously.

I have my eyes on an Inifiniti QX50 2019, held by a GA dealer. It's a buyback car and I live in Illinois. The issue that caused buyback appears to be minor. Would you be able to thoroughly check the car for both any issues as well as dealer's potential deceptive practices (I am hearing some dealers replace original tires)?
Hello, Dmitry! Yes, we can check this car.

I'm looking to purchase two vehicles. If I have them in the same location what would the estimated pricing for that. One for me and the other for my daughter in college.
Hello, Elbert E Edwards! If cars are at the same location it would be $120 for the first one and $96 for the second one.

I'm considering purchasing a 2009-2010 Cadillac srx. What are the issues possible with this vehicle to look out for. Pricing is awesome but want to make sure I don't have major engine or transmission issues down the line.
Hello, Ebert! Apart from standard things to check for (like leaks, engine noises, transmission performance, body condition) don't forget to inspect all-wheel drive system. Make sure that the car turns smoothly, without jerking and tire squeak. Being overlooked it would be very expensive to fix.

Hello, I live in Minnesota an am looking at a 2012 VW Eos Lux with 61,000 miles at Car Connection Inc in Tucker Ga. if they are agreeable I will be placing an order to have you do a without customer inspection. and then have them ship the car to me. In general do you have any opinion's about this car?
Hello, Rob Nelson! Like many other modern Volkswagens, Eos, definitely, is not the best in terms of reliability. Engines often burn oil, timing chain becomes loose, the high-pressure fuel pump may fail. But the main concern is automated manual transmission DSG. It should be ok if car really has 61,000ml but if it was driven in town with a lot of stop and go traffic, clutches could already have significant wear. Fortunately, we can check it with our scan tool and tell you how good the clutches are.

I am cosidering buying a 2013 BMW 650i coupe. Its the V8 . what can you tell me about concerns with respect to expensive repair items that may be a trait for the vehicle. The dealer is asking $25,000 with only 43,000 miles. BTW the dealer is not certified BMW dealer.
Hello, Ronald Ash! There are many issues with these cars (oil leaks, coolant leaks, fuel injectors, electronic issues) and even a small repair can be very expensive bearing in mind that it's BMW. But if you manage to find a low mileage car (like the one you find) and if it wouldn't be wreaked, you can drive it up to 80-100k miles relatively trouble-free.

I am considering purchase of a deeply discounted car that has been affected by potential flooding. Are you confident that an inspection would identify most / all potential damage and or repairs and predict potential issues?
Hello, Brett! We can check that car and tell you how badly it was flooded and what's wrong with it. But the main problem of flooded cars that even if they work fine the moisture inside ECUs or various connectors can damage electronics over time. And this damage is unpredictable and hard to fix. So it's very risky to buy a recently flooded car (about 1-2 months ago) even if it looks good after inspection.

Hi, I am interested in several used cars in the metro Atlanta area. Unfortunately, I do not own a car so it would be tough for me to get to the different dealerships. If I book the unlimited inspections for one day, will I be able to get from dealership to dealership with the mechanic? If so, can I also get a ride to my vehicle of choice when all inspections are done?
Hello, Jonas! Yes, of course, our specialists can transport you in their own car and get back to the car you like most.

How do you inspect the under carriage of a car?
Hello, Todd Mills! We can look under the car. We can turn front wheels left and right to inspect wheel wells. In most cases, it's enough to check the undercarriage. If not - we have a borescope or we can put the car on a lift if the seller has one.
